Growing a Facebook page from 2,000 to 100,000 followers meant building an audience fifty times its original size. Our approach combined regular article publishing with radio and television appearances, connecting consistent content with opportunities to reach new people.
The context: growing beyond an established community
The Facebook page started with 2,000 followers. It had an audience to build on, but the challenge was to expand beyond that initial community and give new visitors a reason to stay.
We needed both visibility and continuity: opportunities for people to discover the page, followed by content that made following it worthwhile.
The objective was to turn occasional attention into a growing audience.
The actions: combining regular publishing with radio and television appearances
We developed the page through regular posting of articles, alongside radio and television appearances.
The articles gave the page a continuing flow of content. People discovering it could find material to read and share, while existing followers had reasons to return.
Radio and television appearances created additional opportunities to reach people beyond the page’s existing audience. They brought the subject matter into other settings, where potential followers could encounter it for the first time.
These activities played complementary roles:
- Regular article posting sustained the page’s content and presence.
- Radio and television appearances extended exposure to new audiences.
The approach connected discovery with an ongoing publishing rhythm. Media appearances could generate attention, while the page offered a place to continue following the content afterwards.
The results: a Facebook community fifty times larger
Over the course of this work, the page grew from 2,000 to 100,000 followers.
That represents:
- 98,000 additional followers.
- An audience fifty times its original size.
- A 4,900% increase in follower count.
These figures describe the growth achieved across the initiative. They do not establish how many followers came from individual articles, radio interviews or television appearances.
The outcome was a substantially larger community connected to the page, built through an approach that combined regular publishing with broader media exposure.
What this case demonstrates
Audience growth benefits from giving people both a way to discover you and a reason to keep following.
Regular article posting and radio and television appearances served those two needs together. One maintained a continuing presence; the other opened opportunities to reach beyond the existing community.
In this case, that combination accompanied growth from 2,000 to 100,000 Facebook followers.
The lesson is practical: a media appearance can introduce you to an audience, but consistent content helps you build a relationship with it.
